Your Membership Supports Our Mission

For over 50 years, since the founding of the Tower-Soudan Historical Society in 1963, we have been dedicated to preserving and sharing local history, engaging the community to respect and appreciate our historic legacy, and inspiring current and future generations to honor this important part of our lives.

As a private nonprofit with no government operating support, we rely on contributions from supporters like you.

Annual Membership

We all take pride in our shared history, and we invite you to be part of preserving our irreplaceable heritage. Join the effort by becoming a member of the Tower-Soudan Historical Society. Your membership helps ensure the continuation of our programs, projects, and preservation work.

Please know that 100% of your online membership payment or donation goes directly to the Tower-Soudan Historical Society—free of service charges. We use the Zeffy fundraising platform for nonprofits, which charges no transaction fees, platform fees, credit card fees, or monthly fees.

Unlike other platforms that deduct service and transaction fees—often impacting the value of your gift—Zeffy (formerly Simplyk) ensures that 100% of your contribution supports the Historical Society.

Zeffy provides its technology to nonprofits entirely free of charge so that donations can be used solely to support each organization’s mission. In return, donors are given the option to make a voluntary contribution to Zeffy.

At the payment confirmation step, you may choose to contribute to Zeffy—but you are never obligated to do so. The dropdown menu allows you to select $0 (under “Other”) or any amount you wish to support their service.

This optional donor contribution is Zeffy’s only source of revenue, allowing them to maintain and improve their platform while covering credit card processing fees for the thousands of nonprofits they serve.

Regardless of whether you choose to make a voluntary contribution, 100% of your membership or donation is deposited directly into the Tower-Soudan Historical Society’s account at Frandsen Bank & Trust in Tower.

Membership Support Eligibility

Anyone can join! There are no requirements to volunteer, attend meetings, or participate in activities if that’s not your thing. All you need is a love of history and a desire to support the preservation of our Tower–Soudan–Lake Vermilion community’s heritage for current and future generations.
